May. 19th, 2005 09:36 amThe Helen Keller Foundation invites submissions in poetry and prose that describe how you or someone close to you overcame a physical, mental or emotional impairment or other adversity. Entries should not exceed 3,000 words and winners' work will be published in a 2005 anthology. First, second and third place winners will receive awards of $2,000, $1,000 and $500.
Send original manuscript with three photocopies to The Helen Keller Foundation, c/o Diane Scharper, English Department, Townson University, Townson, MD 21252.
Include the title of the memoir, your name, address, telephone number and email address on a cover sheet. Title only should appear on each page of manuscript.
