I felt that President-Elect Obama let us see some of his grief in his face tonight, in the midst of all of the jubilation. I wish that we all do, that I do, that I rise to the occasion and find some strength, and take the next steps towards more justice, more connection, more honest life with each other. Better, stronger, truer work. Resilience. Writing that makes me want to describe my green desk to you, the half read New Yorkers, and the very quiet room, the small scale I'm working on, with these new, these renewed big dreams. It can be painful to hold small, deep, singular reasons to mourn with a moment, so hard fought, hard won, that seems alive with struggle and possibility. Oh, but they looked good up on that stage, the families.
To working from the ground up, for real, to the next steps, mine, and everybody else's. And with so much appreciation for all of the work that you've done that helped get to this moment.
