I'll be reading on Sunday, February 13 from 3-6 pm as part of a benefit for the Millay Colony, where I was a resident in the early nineties. It's Edna St. Vincent Millay's old estate, and I thought it was an evocative and wonderful place to write. It was the first residency I had ever been to, and I wrote a good hunk of Martha Moody in a big studio in the barn there, with pages from the novel pinned up all over the walls. (snow blew into the downstairs hallway where we slept in little rooms), and met Alice Sebold, who was such great company.
The reading is at Barbes in Park Slope in Brookyn, and it costs $10. Check the link for details.
