Big Fat Carnival is up at The Body Impolitic, the blog run by Laurie Toby Edison and Debbie Notkin. My post about the Fat Girl Flea is there, and they -- in a very lovely way, with praise that's making me feel all pleased and, it's true, is making me blush -- also linked to my poem "Peaches in July." I haven't had a chance to read anything yet, but the whole thing looks great, and there are gorgeous images from Women En Large and other sources throughout; articles from wonderful novelists like Nalo Hopkinson and Lynne Murray; and much else.

Big Fat Carnival is a regular event, and if you write in a blog or livejournal about anything related to fat, you can submit to it...

fatshionista a well-designed and effective response to arguments about fat and health, which I think came from folks who frequent Big Fat Blog (and so, some of the folks on my friendslist -- thank you for doing this work.).

I thought it was particularly good on weight loss surgery.

mermeydele has posted a call for proposals for papers on Fat Studies for the Popular Studies Assocation conference in Boston next April. I'm thinking of doing a reading.
