Powell's is having an essay contest. Write something short about your most memorable reading experience in the past ten years (probably there are a bunch -- just pick one or a small cluster), and it looks like you can win $1000 or $100 worth of books, or simply even more internet glory. (Don't go by my rough summary here -- read the rules on their site!)
Plus, you can praise reading and plug beloved books and support an independent bookstore, all at once.
