Crybaby Butch

I've just reread the first chapter of Crybaby Butch by Judith Frank, which will be published by Firebrand Books in the fall. That's my publisher, and I'm really excited to be in such company, because I think this chapter is dropdead brilliant -- funny, assured, complex and hot with as many t's as anybody cares to give it for emphasis. (Really, it makes me blush just thinking about it.) It might not be work safe, but whenever you're in a situation where you can read a thrilling piece of writing, check it out.

Date: 2004-04-28 06:01 pm (UTC)Yes, I'd love to stay with you when I'm in the city for the Bluestockings reading, if that's still okay! (We talked about it, but it's been a while.)
And it was SO great to see the Nolose email announcement go out listing both the Northampton reading and Bluestockings -- thank you. The arts editor for the Northampton paper left me a message today wanting a copy of the book. He said that he'd try to get something about it in the paper next week. If he reviews it, that would be a first for my work in my hometown, and would make me very happy. (The downside -- I had to walk a book to the paper's office and found it locked --after hours -- and I have to work a long day tomorrow, so can't bring it then, and my arthritic knee is giving me fits! Eeek!)
So I'm in a work crunch finishing a job this week, then next week's the first public reading, and then I'm off to New Orleans on Friday to do a reading and panel -- scary! exciting! -- but can we check in by email somewhere in there? And yay for the F train -- I think I still have those beautifully detailed directions on how to get to your house (although I have no idea at all how to find Bluestockings ... one thing at a time! ) Okay, bath for aching knee. And love to you.
