This Week

Thursday: Lambda Finalist reading, lgbt center, Manhattan, 7-9.

With a bunch of other interesting writers, including Colm Toibin. I've just started The Master, his widely praised and honored novel about Henry James.

Friday: Adventures in the big city. I get to meet eleanor!

Saturday: I'm helping set up for the Fat Girl Flea Market. I'll be there early, then coming home.

Sunday: Signing copies of Venus of Chalk from 2:30 to 3 at the rally for the Northampton Pride march. I'll be at the Pride&Joy table, and they'll have copies for sale.


I know that ericaceous, originalenid, always_in_drag, and misstoodles will be at the flea. So will bounce_n_jiggle, beccawrites and hhholiday, very likely wildly busy. I bet queentushy will be there -- and plasticsturgeon?

Anybody I miss? I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone. I hope some folks can make it to the reading on Thursday. And, although, interestingly enough, beatgoddess and somechicksings are, I think the only local folks who read my lj -- give a shout out if that's not true! -- I'm excited about the possibility of seeing a bunch of old friends who I haven't seen in ages at the Northampton rally. Of course, bearsir, who is off to frolic at art camp -- congrats! -- is local, too.

Heh. I just saw that Colm Toibin is appearing at the bar next to my workplace. Of course, it is an Irish Pub called Wilde Oscar's and run by dykes. But still, I found it surprising.

It'll be good to see you, too. Can't wear the outfit I've been talking about on fashionista because I'm borrowing that dress and the fishnets are a gift, neither of which I'll get until June. Know I'll be dressed up at the reading, but I expect I'll be pretty low key on Saturday. I've heard of your tangerine dream dress, though...
