A twenty year old photo of me is now up on my website, along with the short story, Drink.

My brother Don, who is a landscape painter took it with his polaroid in his studio in Waltham in the early eighties when he was working on some drawings of me. The setting was so dusty and prosaic and family and every day, and it looks so elegant.

It's six days to the Benjamin Franklin award ceremony, and exactly one week to the Lambda Literary awards.

And your brain crush has made me realize that it's you, which is a good thing. I've got to add you at your new location. I can't talk about my brain in the third person, though -- things start sloshing around and I get dizzy.

Thanks, hon. Don't be glum -- nolose will have such a concentration of fat queer vixens* that it's important that a few of us are elsewhere, causing havoc and all. I'll miss seeing you, but am firm in my conviction that you and all concerned will have a spectacular time.

*I've never been called a vixen before. It is a source of delight.

Ah, thanks. He's such a good painter, it's true. I credit the fact that our mom used to let us finger paint with chocolate pudding (because of the finger-licking factor) in the backyard.
